ABOUT THE ROLE:
Under general supervision of the Senior Credit Officer, the Credit Analyst is responsible to independently, analyze and assess the creditworthiness of existing or prospective members/borrowers. Prepares annual loan reviews and provides underwriting support to relationship managers. Communicates directly with relationship managers and members/borrowers to request and obtain additional information. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills to help resolve various issues (internal & external).
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Spreading of financial statements and or tax returns as well as preparing financial statement projections as needed.
- Perform ratio, trend, and cash flow analysis both traditional and UCA.
- Clearly and concisely present financial analysis performed in a written and verbal manner by establishing facts, identifying key credit issues, and drawing reasonable conclusions.
- Assist in the protection of ongoing asset quality of the Member Business Loan portfolio by preparing annual/interim loan reviews as well as update and maintain the annual review tickler report.
- Works directly with relationship managers to prepare Member Business Loan Requests, credit memorandums, line of credit renewals, and loan modifications.
- Responsible for monitoring and obtaining borrower/guarantor tax returns and or financial statements as well as update and maintain the financial statement tickler report.
- Perform other credit analyst duties, including special projects, as assigned by VP Sr. Commercial Credit Officer.
- Perform all job responsibilities in conformance with established Credit Union policies and procedures as well as in accordance with prescribed regulatory compliance guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
BA/BS in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent formal credit training.
Experience/Skills/Knowledge:
- 5+ years of commercial credit analysis/underwriting experience with C&I and CRE loans. Knowledge of SBA 7a and 504 loans a plus.
- Proficient in using spreadsheet software such as Abrigo/Sageworks as well as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience with FormWrx and Loan Manager a plus.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills. Attention to detail a must.
- Strong time management and multitasking skills in a team-oriented environment while maintaining an ability to delivered finished products within a predetermined time frame.
- Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints (internal & external)
- Must possess a strong service orientation and willingness to assist members.
